Heard a guy say he saw that in a tournament.
Said it like "Can you believe that".
Is that tough?
Doesn't sound it unless they glazed up outside of 7 a little too! Now board 1 to 1, that's a different story! Still playable!

Sounds like the guy may have been used to short oil THS patterns and not used to playing long oil. I think it's a very playable shot, just have to be consistent with your ball speed, release and targets.

Some people focus only on the final buffed length, not bothering to think about the fact that the actual application might only be 25-28 feet. Even if it was a 42 foot application without buff, it still sounds very playable.

it depends what is the ratio of oil is from the different parts of lane.

Tell him never to bowl a PBA tournament where they put out pattern B. Pattern B is 43 feet of oil with anywhere from 40-50 microlitres of oil per board (i.e. a flood). Anything outside of 13 is history; get ready to shoot a tough spare. No wall to bounce the ball off of. Just good old fashioned tough bowling.
So far, I'm averaging 201.25 on pattern B.

If horse racing is the sport of kings, then surely bowling is a very good sport as well.

PLEASE, Put me in a tournament and give me that shot!
The problem I have is there is hardly ever ENOUGH oil to hold my shot from hooking early.
Sometimes the shot is yours, sometimes it is someone else's. Sounds like that day it was for someone else.

Just call me Darreyl, it's much easier to say!

Let me know where, when and how much to enter.
Because I'm in.
To me that would be "The Great Wall of China".
