6 Ball Arsenal
« on: October 11, 2008, 05:56:18 AM »
What makes a good 6 ball arsenal, in your opinion? Not necessarily specific bowling balls, but more layouts, weak or strong, coverstock, etc.

Do feel free to talk about specific balls, but being general is what I'm looking for.

Also, kick in your two cents about whether it's better to have a plastic ball or to throw a weak reactive at single pins to free up a slot in your bag.

Personally - 1 weak ball, drilled extremely weak (either no flare or super skid-snap) 2 strong balls, one drilled to set up early, one drilled to turn hard 2 medium balls, very similar so they can be interchanged when one doesn't carry...also, the medium balls should be able to take surface changes during practice if you want a different look. Finally, a plastic ball, which could hypothetically be used when the lanes are TOAST.

--------------------
Righty
High rev rate (400-450 rpm)
Semi-high speed (16-17 mph)
Book average: 193 (current 245)

For a game based on the principles of science and math, bowling sure does have a bad habit of being illogical.
