6 ball bag or two 3 ball bags?
« on: October 29, 2012, 02:54:47 PM »
I have a strikeforce ducttaped heldtogether 3 ball bag currently. and i have 8 bowling balls. Definately a problem. Ive been wondering if its worth the extra cabbage to opt for a storm 6 ball bag. 240bucks...or if i should buy 2 3 ball totes by dv8 for 55bucks a pop. Thats 130less for 2 bags thatll just be an inconvenience. Im not really worried about a shoe pouch, i can rig something up on them to hold my shoes. They have nice size wheels for a cheap 3 ball bag, and look sturdy enough. Any thoughts?

2 3-Ball or a 6-Ball bag is personal preference.  6-Ball has a wide footprint, but it is more stable and it takes up less room then 2 3-ball bags, when you are at a tournament.  If you use only 3 balls for league house then take the extra 3 for tournaments, then that may be the way to go.  I use my 6-ball and take out a section for league, bringing in 4-balls.  My preference.

IMHO, 6 ball bag is not worth it unless you need a place to hang your coat while you bowl. :)

I have had a 3-4-5 from KR for about 6 years, and have a couple of 900 Global and Vise 3 ball clear top totes. I really like the 3 ball totes, and you can take the shoe compartment off if you like. Easier on your back, don't have to take it apart to get it in the car, and it takes up less room personally

Personal preference.  In my opinion there's more room in the bowling center floor than there is in my car trunk.  I use tripple totes to keep me from having to lift a 4 or 6 ball bag into and out of the car...

If you need to take 6 balls to league, there is a problem. LOL I personally think they look ridiculous and unless you have a big vehicle they are a PIA to haul around and left in and out of your car/truck.

If you really need to carry 6 balls, just use 2 3 ball totes..

I agree with that comment 110%

Just go to a PBA regional event and see how many players have a 6 ball bag.. You will see zero of them.. They all use 2 and 3 ball totes and rollers..

I think my 4 ball roller takes up too much space,I can't imagine a 6 ball roller. Not to mention having to load it into the car.

No question. Two three balls. I have a two three balls, a 6 and a 4. The 4 is ok if you want to carry 4 balls. The six.

I currently use an ampac 6 ball bag if I am traveling or a tournament type situation--have had that about 2 years--got it used off ebay....that one seems to be the most compact 6 ball bag I have ever seen, and it comes apart quite easily and the middle section doesn't have to be used if you needed a 4 ball bag.

My 4-ball roller takes up a lot of space (as mentioned previously, it has a wide footprint). But there are upsides:

- I only have to lift 2-balls at a time into my trunk. I can't lift 3-at-a-time without risking major back issues.
- When whipping through a concourse weaving in and out of traffic (for instance, when moving from high side to low side in a break), those 3-ball rollers are too easy to twist and roll over, which is a pain to stop and straighten out.
