I partially agree with Chawk on this. There isn't a magic ball, but there are some that could be suited better than others.
Two things must happen for you to play the "up and in"
1) The bowler must learn to play that game if they are not familiar with it.
2) (this is a big one) Conditions must permit the bowler to play there.
Yes, you can force a ball off the point and shoot BB's, but that's just not bowling.
My recommendation is this. Continue to pursue the goal of becoming a versitile bowler. Shoot to be the bowler who can play deep, play the track or play the twig. In the long run you'll be better off.
The final advice that I have is to make sure you have a well-rounded arsenal that fits your game and the conditions that you will be bowling on.
