7-10 conversion
« on: December 01, 2010, 04:48:15 AM »
i have been bowling since i was 5, i just turned 46 today. last nite i left a pocket 7-10, and for the first time i made it. i bounced the 10 out of pit onto the lane, it rolled over and took out the 7. that only took 41 years, now if i can just get that 800 over with?

Sweet. The best part of making the 7-10 is the total 180 you get in attitude. You feel absolutely awful after leaving it, but making it just makes the whole night awesome no matter what your other scores are. Too bad it almost never happens for us mere mortals who don't throw it 30mph at spares.

Congratulations. It is a rare feat indeed.

I did it once, but didn't even see it.  I left it, got really mad, and just hurled the spare shot onto the lane, then turned to walk off. I heard it hit a pin, then the guys started yelling. When I turned and looked back, it was gone, and they were congratulating me.

Hope yours was better than that.

Congrats on the accomplishment!  I've been lucky enough to have made 2 of them, what a great feeling.  Too bad the USBC doesn't give an award for these anymore, I know it's not much more than a patch, but there still fun to have as a reminder.  The USBC should put them online like other accomplishments.

That is why I never, ever turn my back when shooting at a split. You never know what you might miss! I was fortunate enough to be watching both times I've made it. (And unfortunately I got to see the 10 pin bounce back onto the deck but roll off JUST before the 7 pin a couple weeks ago... I got all excited for nothing!)

Those are the moments you live for...

I would have left my bags and balls -- " I would announce I am retiring from bowling and have a great day "

That is one of better dreams that want ever happen...  I suck right now...

Congrats on the accomplishment.

Out of 1,582,008 attempts I have converted it 4 times. I remember each one like it was yesterday.

Awesome man! Truly is a great feeling when you get it, like you defeated a big bully or something. I've been fortunate enough to pick it up 4 times, but I guess I'm included in the immortal group that can throw nearly 30 mph lol

congrats!!!!    yea its funny how the 7-10 split happens and gets picked up @ weird times.

I did mine back in 01???  and it happend during a awful game, had a terrible reaction and finally pured a shot in the pocket and slammed a 7-10.  I was so pissed that i tossed the ball @ the 10 pin as hard as i could, and hit the 10pin, on the gutter side..

The pin, hit the pit and bounced back and off the ball and flew over and kicked out the 7pin.... that was the highlight of my 160 game lol......

I do think picking up splits like these 7-10, big 4, greek church, and such are almost more exciting than honor scores..

Nice stuff! Always fun to make the 7-10. I have made a few of them... the most notable was in practice when I left it I decided to grab a 13lb house ball that I could barley get my fingers in and fire it at the 7 and managed to get the bounce out of the pit

have four 7-10 conversions and 1 big 4 conversion under my belt. not the most recent one, but my third conversion was during league and I needed it to win my point since I was in Peterson point league. Each and every time it is an awesome feeling.
