My dad has been bowling off and on for 35+ years. Well, for the first time in his life, he had a clean game. Going into the 10th, he didn't realize it, and he barely picked up a 7. He ended up shooting 196 (146 avg), but he was disappointed for not shooting deuce. I told him that he just had a clean game... He had a bit of a confused look on his face. So, I told him, "Dad, you didn't have an open" Well, he lit up, and he was so excited about being clean that he didn't really care about the final score. That's when he told me that he'd never had a clean game before. I was so proud of him. It wasn't an easy clean game either... He picked up a 2-8, 2-4-8, and a 2-4-5-8.
