Thumb Pitches
« on: April 05, 2005, 03:19:11 PM »
Recently just got a ball from a friend of mine, just that the pitch is slightly off than my usual. thrown it a few times and find my ball rolling rather different . Could be be due to the pitch or my hands overturning?

My ball is turning like a spinner now with that ball.

Could be many things... pitch is likely the cause. Could be coverstock, layout, mechanically changes required to deliver the ball. There is not enough information provided to do a detailed analysis.

Here's my thread with regards to the ball I'm using with a different pitch.

JOHN2TR,

I agree with you. Thumb pitches are really important to give a clean release. But even drillers themselve can't do a "copy and paste" of the thumb perfectly, that's why I alter thumb pitches myself with sandpaper.
