Getting low
« on: March 15, 2006, 12:37:37 AM »
Right now I'm having a very hard time laying the ball down. I'm very upright at the line and it feels like I'm lobbing the ball so much. It really makes my ball reaction very erratic. A fellow league bowler told me to bend more at the knees but I don't think I can(knee pain). Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Go to the Mo Rich web site and look at his tips section.  There is a good topic about this.  Basicall it comes from youe stance.

When I stand at the approach I bend at my waist and put my head over the ball.  I keep my head at this height thru out my release and follow thru.  It makes it real easy to get low at the line.

I have had two ligaments replaced in my knee, as well as two meniscuses repaired and it killed me to get low.  NOW if i dont get lower with my knee bend, my knee gives me a fit.  I am only about 1 and a half years out of surgery, and the lower i get the better it feels.  Might just take you about a week of practice to get your knee used to it, but you should give it a try.
