« on: April 13, 2012, 11:37:18 AM »
I want to increase ball speed, was thinking my best bet  was dropping from 15 to 14. How much will I gain (mph) and also I'll take other suggestions on ways to increase ball speed I need to find about 2mph. without losing acu. Thanks.

From what I have personally observed you usually gain about a 1 to 1.5 mph when going down in weight a pound.

You can also increase your speed by raising the ball in your starting position. Also a slight increase in your approach speed can increase your ball speed as well but requires practice to get use to your timing change.

…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.

Approach speed is how I adjust ball speed. Faster for faster, slower for slower. If you can't adjust your timing for either you're going to have problems, though.

Tis the cheapest way of changing ball speed, though.

ball speed is more affected by how fast or slow you are with your feet than any other factor.I went from 16 lb to 15 lb and my ball speed did not change at all.

Your brain times your swing to your feet.If you want more ball speed speed up your feet.If you want less ball speed slow your feet down.
