Wet Dry.... Is this me in these charts?

I think I just learned something!

Thanks Columbia!

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS I know... I posted this in Columbia too!  It is apparent to me that everyone I talk to at our local wet dry centers doesn't see this or understand it either!
Can't wait to put to use!

I have only one ball weak enough in the midlanes to give me a line from outside(straight up 6 7 or 8 depending on night) my Dynamic groove.

Last week I did very well with my ICON original.

However I'm going to try their recomendation of the Reaction Roll with some surface adjustments(weaker with polish) at both of the over under centers I bowl at!

Chad Murphy of Columbia says of this strategy that if practiced correctly one should KILL this condition!  With all sorts of area.

He also added that if you get in this hold area part of the pattern and are not striking but leaving weak corners.(for me 7 with 4 in front and laying in gutter of for you wrongsiders(righties) a weak 10).  Simply stay the same place and look shorter!  My coach last week on this 11 to 5 shot deep in the dry had me drop my starting position down 6 inches......strike strike strike strike!

I guess that worked!

Thanks for posting the link LL.

To share some more information with my follow BR members, there is more than one way to skin this cat.  If one doesn't work for you, the other might.  The columbia site presents on solid way, here's another:

Ever notcie that super-fluffers can often score high on patterns like this as well?  It's because they can square up just outside the oil line to find a "normal" line to the pocket.  If they pull the ball into the oil, the ball is almost on a direct line to the pocket.  The heavy oil inside the oil line combined with the low-rev release causes the ball to head to the pocket on a pretty direct path.  The more the ball is pulled, the longer it stays in the oil and the straighter and longer it will go. For those of us with non-fluffer releases, we can achieve the same effect by using a weak ball that is drilled to arc.  Shots missed to the right are in the dirt anyway and will usually make it back to the pocket.

I've had success both ways - with Columbia's suggestion as well as using a weak (example: a V2 Dry or a Dynothane Barrage) piece of equipment outside the oil.  It doesn't hurt to try them both and find out which is working better for you on any given day.

I agree.

Our pattern is actually pretty interesting.

10 to 10 for 30 feet and then a fast christmas tree to 40 meaning the ball jumps at 30 quickly.

ie one doesn't usually want a lot of flare, a lot of midlane but does want some backend later.

As a result I've been doing well with this shot with lower flare(not low just lower).

The panic cannot miss the pocket( small swing).  The Icon orignial is nice when a little more head oil.  (same small swing), and the Dynamic groove can be played straight up 8 or 9 or 10 what ever is appropriate that day.

I've gone from having almost no strings last year (what a struggle) to having 7 or 8 baggers 3 of the last 4 weeks and a shot at 290 till a big interruption in the 10th last week.  Lefties just don't do this in this house!

Tried the Reaction Roll strategy in this house yesterday,  ummmmmm not bad but probably because of the 10 foot christmas tree at 30 feet not the answer.

Will try again in the more traditional wet dry house soon and report back.
ie 10 to 10 for 40 feet with harsh sides.  NOte that REaction Roll with some surface weakening and polish is still a bear and good strong move!

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS why is the right so much easier ???  I think I've figured that out too.  But the end of practice the harsh barrier between 10 and 9 is already blended out reducing the WET /DRY effect.  That is why the 20 to 25 pin differential between righties and lefties of usually equal ability exists.  And the lefties lack of recognition of the difference and strategy.  (Most of them have left)
Most 215 guys do not like to average 188!
