886 series by Brett Wolfe
« on: June 12, 2011, 01:43:45 PM »
Congrats to Brett Wolfe, this weekend, shooting games of 286-300-300 for a 886 series in team event, which now is the highest in Arizona History.  Not sure which ball he was using, but my first guess was the Blue Hammer!

Yes, this is a great series. Even though this score was bowled on a house shot you still have to be throwing the ball well AND carry all those hits.

That being said, several years ago when Brett Wolfe won the ABC Masters I was asked by several bowlers why he didn't bowl on the PBA Tour. He had a great WEEK by winning the Masters. He did bowl on tour the next year full time but wasn't really a threat. I read where he had a job with Coca Cola and hated to leave the security that the position afforded.......I don't blame him. And the way things are going for the PBA right now he probably made the best decision.......financially and  bowling wise. You have to bowl well EVERY week just to survive on the PBA Tour. And you have to bowl great EVERY week if you are going to dominate at this level.

Again, this was a great series, no doubt. If you look Brett Wolfe up at bowl.com he's had very high league averages for years. He's also had many honor scores.
