Finger Tape which doesn''t require you to get bigger inserts
« on: January 25, 2010, 02:50:55 AM »
Hi all,

I am new to finger tape, and i was hoping to ask the advice of people that have used it before.  I have problems with small cracks in my fingers when I bowl a lot of games. Because of this im looking for a tape which i could put on when the cracking starts, but wouldn''t have to go with a larger insert size, perhaps something about the thickness of electric tape.

I have tried the Vise NT-50Y, but there was no way i could get into my present inserts with this on, and i get the impression that this is meant to be worn all of the time.

Does anyone know of a tape product which fits this description? Any help appreciated.

I like to use the ebonite thumb tape for my fingers, the only downside was I went from a size 7 to a size 9.5 vise grip, but it is very comfortable and can use it for 10 gamers and never need replacing.

Also, I didn't mention this before besides that I did't like the finger tape that much due to the foreign feel. The NT50 will take you up at least one grip size, but the Bio Skin Pro if stretched out a lot will not even take you up a grip size, all depending on the overlap on the sides and how hard you pull it. I did use the Bio Skin Pro for a while and had to say it was the best I used but the tape is just not my preference.

I use Magic Carpet, a velcro like tape you can buy at bowl4fun.com.  It is by far the best thing I've every used, you put it on the back of the thumb hole and no problem, I even put one on the front of the thumb hole now it doesn't matter what my thumb does the Magic Carpet "adjusts" to it
