900 in Rhode Island Last Night
« on: April 17, 2013, 11:46:24 AM »
Since I haven't seen anything about this yet outside of Facebook, I figure I'll share.

I had the pleasure of watching a little history (pending formal USBC approval, of course) last night in person. Jimmy Williams shot games of 300-300-300 in the South County Classic League at Old Mountain Lanes in Wakefield, RI to become the latest individual to achieve ultimate perfection. He threw a Track 912T all night.

While I understand that someone will inevitably want to drag this thread into another argument about out-of-control scoring in today's game, I started this post simply to congratulate a true gentleman on an unbelievable accomplishment. Jimmy is one of the nicest people I've ever met in a bowling center and I don't think there was a person in that building who wasn't happy for him. Congratulations Jimmy!

The scoring pace is a discussion for other threads, 900 is an accomplishment, however "easy" the scoring pace is, congrats to him!

Its a great set. The only difference between 800 and 900 is typically 3-6 strikes.

Amazing!  Great shooting! No matter who says what about the scoring pace in bowling, to put together 36 great shots, purely awesome!  Congrats!

Edited: I searched youtube and got this video of the 900.  It's a blurry cell phone but it does the trick.  Enjoy

That's awesome! Even better is that he didn't go bonkers when he finished it out. I know I would have acted like a damn fool! Great to see everyone around him giving congratulations too. Sportsmanship at its finest.
