One of the guys that runs the proshop I go to just shot 900 last night at Glass Bowl Lanes in toledo ohio using a roto grip up-roar.
-
Bowled there about a decade ago in a tournament. 2 sided house and the left side was much easier than the right side...forget if the left side was numbered higher or lower than the right side though.
Either way, congrats to the shop operator!

From what I can see from my facebook video he was on the right side of the house. there was a set to the right empty and he was on the next set.
I could be wrong, but that's what I can see.
Either way, 900's don't come easy. Congrats to the bowler, whose name I will keep to myself. I do not know them personally.

Dude shot 900 and nobody is gonna post his name? WTF?

Earon Vollmar
The best part is he had the first 33 and had to wait for lane courtesy.

That's awesome! I don't even know if I could get up to throw those last 3. What a rush that has to be! Congrats for sure!!!

You make that sound like it's a bad thing. It probably helped him stay in rhythm. I know when I shot my very first 300, I had the bowler on the pair with me bowl her normal turns. It helped from keeping me from rushing and made it seem more like a normal game. Although that changed pretty quickly when I turned around and saw pretty much the entire house standing behind my pair, lol (this was back in the 80's when it was still a big thing to shoot a 300, lol).
Congratulations, throwing 36 strikes on any pattern is an awesome accomplishment!

Congrats to Mr. Vollmar.
It takes alot to throw those last 3 and he threw them great.

Another 900 for Storm/Roto products. BTW, listed as he was throwing the Uproar.
-
I can't even imagine how that must feel. I was fortunate enough to strike 32 times during my one and only 800 series. The funny thing about it is that I can remember all four shots that didn't strike that night, and only one of them didn't have a chance. To get all 36 shots there and to carry them all is amazing no matter what the condition. Congratulations to Mr. Vollmar!

I'd love to see that in person. Can ony imagine the cheers after each strike in the third game.

It's the standard!

And this just made the splash page at bowl.com. They also included the video of the guy literally at laneside so you can see the last 3 shots a lot better:

All I'll say is this: having seen one before (Jeremy Sonnenfeld in '97), I still get nervous myself just thinking about it back then, and feel the nerves watching this again. I mean, the entire house is so dead quiet you could hear an ant walk across the lanes.
Absolutely intense, but well bloody done, Earon!

Those last three were very powerful. No doubt about them at all.
-
I have been bowling for about 43 years. It is so hard for me to imagine that this is possible to do. Not only do you have to roll the ball properly, you have to be fortunate enough to carry. Powerful as the balls are to produce more revs which lead to more strikes, you can leave a 7 - 8 - 9 or 10 pin at any time. So to be able to carry all 36 without leaving one of those pins is just unbelievable. It is a feat worthy of superior recognition!
-
Good for this guy. But I'd be more receptive had the USBC recognized Glenn Allison's set.
-
Very well done, cherish the moment, this might be the only time you'll be in that moment. Congrats.
-
Wow, congrats to him.

Congrats to Glenn Allison. He'll always be the first one to do it in a sanctioned league, even though it wasn't recognized by the sanctioning body.
Congrats to Earon, he accomplished an amazing feat. Has the USBC approved his 900 yet?
