thumb mold issue
« on: September 14, 2011, 08:15:18 AM »
I use a mold for my thumb which is shorter than the actually hole. I use my strike ball for spares throwing end-over-end or a back up ball. Well, during practice I managed to release the ball landing on the thumb hole which pushed my thumb insert down to about 1/16" or less.

Should I worry about it? I re-positioned the tapes in the thumb a little higher and the feel is not that much different.

Thanks in advance for your help.

If it hasn't sunk all the way to the bottom yet, it will.  Best bet is to have a new one put in.  Or if your lucky and can pull the one that's in it out, and re-do it.  but more than likely your gonna have to just have it drilled out, and a new one put in.

next time pour some plug in the hole if you can see it is too short from the get go, then it cant fall down.

If you release it again like that, I would assume that you will crack/chip the edge of the hole. If you are in the Bay Area NorCal if you want to come by my shop, I'll pull it out and reset for you!

R2B....where's your shop located? I'll be in Pinole in a couple of weeks bowling... Are you near by? Let me know.

Thanks again guys

I've done this a few times and it works.  Now I have the drill bit marked to know how deep to make the hole.
