Tuesday night i went to the bowling alley to help my dad get his swing right and once he was done with practice i went to the front desk and got a pair to practice on with an older guy who i coach and also is fun to bowl with. The league went all the way to 31-32 in a 40 lane house. I got 35-36 to practice. The next couple of hours were something to ponder. There was a guy who's name is Andy Vannostrand, he was bowling a team that has a bunch of complainers on it. Anyway i was watching andy in practice and the gamebreaker was reading the lane fine even though there was a league before.
First game he shoots 296 left the 3-6-9-10. After having his ball go light light 10 and 11th it hit dry too hard and through nose. Any way next game he shoots a 299 with a ringing ten. Meanwhile the pair to the right of us had a family of the beverly hillbiles that left just after the 299. Talk about loud obnoxious guy with daughter grand daughter(2) son and baby's daddy. Somewhere at the other end of the league a guy had the front ten and went 3-6-9-10. Fast forward about an hour; the state record was 886. He gets up and labels the next 2 meanwhile the whole bowling alley stopped and watched the tenth frame he nuts the first 2 shots and then goes high flush with a 4 falling slowly the whole bowling alleys was a mix of yells handshakes and amazement. 895 new FL state record 2 pairs to my left.
He was a machine all night and the guy is a real class act. after everyone goes back to finish their league games I start another practice game because i really need to work on my game over the next year to make jr team USA. Watching him shot his series made me remember a great quote by vince lombardi"If we strive for perfection we will of course reach excellence" I was going to quit a month back but i have the inner fire again to pursue.
