A ball recommendation please
« on: February 16, 2015, 04:57:09 PM »
My wife went to the local pro shop and got me a new ball for Valentines Day. It's a DV8 Thug Unruly.
She wanted to surprise me and I was, pleasantly! . The only thing is I have some heavy oil, strong rolling balls, but I hardly ever use them.  Not enough oil and I do much better with "weaker"  balls.  My favorites are the Lights Out and Yeti Uncaged. I mainly use the LO.
I'm going to take the Thug Unruly back for an exchange so I'm looking at balls that I can actually use.
I'm leaning towards the Rhino Pro or a Grease Monkey Whack, but open to any other options.  Not company specific, that's why I didn't post in any particular company forum.

What kind of ball motion do you want?  Something cleaner and angular or something that is weaker than the Uncaged but still smooth and controllable?

That's exactly it, because my Uncaged is plenty strong, I'm looking for something below that, but above my Lights Out. Smooth and controllable are the right words.

Sounds like an LT 48 might be the answer!

I'd second the LT48 as well

Just like the 2 previous guys mentioned; the LT-48 would be a great choice.  If you havent seen it go down the lane; watch the show from last week when Rash shot 300 as it was the ball he used.  Ball will definitely be a step down from the Uncaged but not as skid flip as the Lights Out.

Thank you, I will definitely consider the LT-48 as well.  I haven't even seen one being thrown where I'm at, but I have heard a lot of good things about it!
