New scratch game world record shot 11-30-11

Tonight at a center in St charles MO(subburb of St. Louis) a new world record scratch game was shot by bowlers from Lindenwood University.

Pretty amazing. Do you know where the 8 count and two 9 counts were in the game.

The last bowler had 11 in a row before the ONLY 8 count of the night. Every one else had 9 counts or strikes.

Here's the video. Congrats on a huge number. Not trying to find fault with them but wish they could have done it with a little more composure. Never have been a fan of running out shots and all the excessive celebrating. Always subscribed to the mantra of "act like you've been there before". Couldn't help but to feel bad for the guys bowling around them when they were running shots out 4-5 lanes down.

 

That said they obviously knew the record and were looking to beat it early in the 10th. Threw a couple off shots and got away with them but that's alot of pressure. Bowling for your team as well as yourself. I've always found it feels tighter when I need to finish to win the team game than to shoot an honor score imo.

I've always thought the same way about acting like you've been there before, but in this case, no one has ever been there so i could understand the excitement. We have some bowlers than make it sound like a 300 has been shot when they get a double...

Yeah I kinda thought about the fact that nobody has been there before when I posted that comment but really anytime someone reaches a new high it is unchartered territory. Should someone looking at 830-840 get a fr4ee pass too just cause it will be a personal high?

 

Again, not trying to rain on their parade. It is quite an accomplishment. I just think personally I would have been more impressed if they threw the shots, had plenty of emotion, but contain it to their pair and not walk across others approach.

For the record, if I was the anchor bowler on that team, the walls would not have kept me in the building after running out the record breaking shot.  I've been on a team that shot about 70 pins less than that and we were freakin' out so I can only imagine what was going through their minds.  I kinda think if that was something I would be lucky enough to participate in,  after the last shot was thrown, I'd walk down the lanes, turn the lane off and snag the headpin from a full rack as a trophy for the house from one lane and five from the other for my team.
