Has the "current economic climate" affected your ball buying?
« on: October 05, 2008, 07:51:51 PM »
In my personal life I have not really seen any affect of what is all over the news these days... they are saying about tightening our belts etc, though I havn't seen much difference.  The Dollar is up against the GBP, which isnt great for us over here, and fuel went way up for a bit but has come down a little, but other than that - not much..

Was wondering though, how have others felt its affected their bowling?  and in particular, the number of (or regularity) of new ball purchases?

No different here. That said, I am not a "collector" any longer, so I am only buying balls now that I will actually use. That said, since switching from Lane #1 to 900G, I have bought each ball they have released. Now that 900G has made enough balls to cover a broad range of conditions, I may slow down. It's a decision based on bowling and practicality...not the economy. My business generally goes up as the economy slides. Fixing cars is a good business to be in when folks do not want to (or cannot afford to) buy new cars

yes, even though i'm not working as much, therefor not making as much money, i haven't bought a bowling ball since january, and i average one every two months or so.  I'm gonna pick up an SD73 classic or Gamebreaker here soon though
