A guy shoots 665 and beats me

I was bowling a head to head match tonight and lost 665 to 664. My problem is I out bowled him. I was throwing the correct ball and layout for this particular pattern.He was throwing the wrong ball and the wrong layout.So what gives????? I was splitting boards and he was was spraying it all over the place using as many as 3 boards at his target and by about 2 at his break point. I never missed my target or break point and still lost. What burns me the most is he needed all three in the tenth and he missed his target by a half board on each of his first shots while missing his break point point by as much as 2 boards.This just is not fair. Just venting

I have many more bad nights of bowling scoring 670-690 versus the nights where i pure the ball and shoot 580. Honestly the nights where I am loose, work out the best on house shots or for me any shot.

If I split boards and overthink I hardly ever score, I have an area I like too play in and just change tilt and ball speed.

Just go out and throw the ball having fun while doing it, next time out you will be at 740 instead of 664. I think you overthought and where slightly tighter in your arm swing than you might believe.

I shot 650 last week and felt I stunk up the place so 664 is not shoot'n the lights out,better luck next time.

Remember bowling is a game of scoring (no extra pins for style or technique).  You may be a better bowler than your opponent, however he beat you in the head to head match.  Congratulate your opponent, and better bowling next time.

I wish missing my breakpoint by 2 boards was "spraying the ball". If I'm constantly within 2 boards I'm ecstatic.

There will be games that a bowler can miss by a few boards on either side and carry.It depend on what ball you use that night.But wally300 fail to mention what he was using and the type of oil pattern the match was bowl on.He mention splitting boards and so for - he must have good eyesight for that.But also it just prove that he show poor sportmanship on his part.If you wally300 get beat again get over it and learn from it that is what makes a champion.

This has to be a sham!  Two boards at the break point is spraying the ball?  I want to spray the ball like that!  The tour players would like to spray the ball like that!

Nobody else mentioned the reason that he lost.  Surface.  He had the right ball, right layout, WRONG SURFACE!!  His opponent had wrong ball, wrong layout, but had the right surface!!

Oh brother............!!!

If you had to be that accurate to strike while your oponent was able to "spray & pray" and still beat you, you WERE NOT using the correct piece of equipment or playing the correct angle of trajectory.

 The lanes were the same for both of you. Your opponent had the "intangible" working for him while you did not. Having that makes all the difference in carry.

  Don't cry about your own mistakes.  If your opponent had an unfair advantage, or outright cheated, it would be different. Unless you left something out, stop whining.

Both LuckyLefty and Charlest are perfect examples of why my area and carry has gone up in general.  The "explosion point "at the bottom of my swing has gotten much better, and it shows.  

I know this has nothing to do with the OP, but hey, it's fun.

665 to 664 is a pretty good match IMO....until you add in the 300 pins of handicap !
