Similar Core Shapes

Anyone else notice that the core shape of the Big Time (the "best ball money can buy", per TJ) is extremely similar to the core shape of the Dyno-Thane Energy?
The specs are similar too - 2.51 and 0.50 for the Big Time, 2.52 and 0.60 for the Energy.

Of course, the coverstocks are completely different, so I'm not saying they're the same ball. I just happened to notice how similar the cores looked.

I wouldn't say it's huge. Noticeable in ball reaction, probably, but not huge as in the difference between a 0.30 and a 0.60.

But then some people think a ball that hooks two boards more than another is a huge difference. Not I.

Yes and no. The Big Time uses the old Apex Adrenaline core (I believe) which has a pancake on top, where as the Energy used a flip block. Also the Energy has a smaller "power cap" on the bottom of the core as well. The Big time does not. ALso on the BT the bottom portion of the core has a small piece cut out so to speak, where as the Energy is round all the way through. Several minor differences in cores. Coverstocks are obviously different. 2 cores that are truly similar are the Track EMB and the Roto-grip Rush. Those two are very similar in look, but once again have some differences as well.
