A suggestion for Tamerbowling.

If you are going to post a review here, POST the review here. And if you somehow can't manage that, when you have a redirect link back to your site for the review, HAVE THE REVIEW POSTED ALREADY! "Written review coming soon" is BS since we have already tried looking at it twice.

Sorry M, I just realized I put Tamerbowling on my ignore list after looking at a post by them myself where they said something like "check out our reviews/videos of xxxxxxx ball", but only posted links to their own website.

Since they use youtube, I started to just embed them myself and hack Tamerbowling off, but figured it was just easier to ignore them and avoid the aggravation.

Sorry I forgot, guess I hadn't missed them enough to remember.

Yea, I think that might be a good idea. I'm not a big fan of redirect. Seems like they are just trying to drive traffic to their site.

The website has potential, but I agree that redirects are tacky. If they are going to play that game, I'm not going to visit.

Thinking further about this, has Britton ever used the technique of posting a review that's nothing more than a redirect to videoballreviews?

When i post videos I have always given you the option of youtube links or links to my site...i dont like going 5 different places to see one thing as much as you guys so i try to keep it simple

Right, but have you ever posted an actual review in the review section that is nothing other than a link to your site? I don't think so, but just curious.

Actually i have...just check out my reviews through the link in my profile.  I used to do a little write up with each review but i never posted many of them in the actual review parts just in the forums.  When i started doing voice overs in my videos i stopped writing reviews because i was able to explain the reaction i saw more clearly that way.

Also as a credit to Mr Tamer, his site is well put together and his ball reviews are getting better especially now that he teamed up with bowlerx pro shops and has access to more equipment and better bowlers.  I wish i had more time to dedicate to my site to do some similar coaching stuff and more write ups but my full time job and other commitments dont allow that.  Heck i barely bowl tournaments anymore and only bowl one night a week anymore.

To get back on the original topic I know Tamer and myself are in this for the same thing, to help you guys make educated decisions on your next purchases.  I understand where you guys are coming from but cut him a little slack, he is providing a free service to you guys and just trying to get the word out.

Cut him some slack? Sure, we appreciate the reviews, even more so since they aren't coming from a staffer with an agenda from the ball company. But my original point remains, if you don't have the review posted, don't redirect us from this site just to drive traffic to your own. Posting that a review is available on your site, just to get us to visit said site, when the review doesn't exist? Thanks for wasting my time.

Here is a further suggestion, post a brief review here, then have a redirect link to a more detailed review on your site. Either you are making or hope to make, a profit from your website. There is nothing wrong with that.

But if you want our time and attention,  when you advertise a review on your site, HAVE THE REVIEW ACTUALLY THERE! That enough slack for you?

I think the hostility began when all this Grips Glove vs Vise started, and it has been escalating ever since.

Britton,

I would tend to give more "slack" to someone who came on here, started a "see my review" thread, and then actually put SOMETHING there more than just a link to the review on another site belonging to them.

The reason YOU got slack was, as far as I was concerned, you were the FIRST and there always has to be a learning curve. That, and most of your threads had at least a snippet about the ball before the link, not just a blatant attempt at re-direction without any regard for anything else.

I also hate it when somebody posts an "I have these great balls for sale" thread, only to find all they've posted are e-bay links to their auctions. I understand it, just don't like it.

What does it matter? Is it too much effort to click the back button, or close the window? Wow. They are giving a review on a website called Ballreviews.com, in the forum of the ball they are talking about. Which probably gets more traffic than the review section. That ridiculous glove gets more attention than the review section, and its the same person with 10 different names having a conversation with himself. You say you are 50 years old, time to grow up gramps. These guys take there own personal time to make these videos, if you dont like it, dont watch. Get over yourselves.
