Good guy gets a break
« on: October 07, 2003, 09:12:18 PM »
A friend of mine, heck of a nice kid, having problems with money and stuff, struggles jsut to get 20 every week to bowl with us. He throws a proactive zone drilled up for a righty (hes left handed) which doesn't fit as his only ball. It is in terrible shape, he still averages good with it. But we had a ball raffle in our classic league, and he won a bowling ball, any one he wants from the pro shop. I am so glad some guy with 30 bowling balls didn't win one, its nice to see someone who REALLY needs one, because he has alot of talent, get a break. We are hooking him up with a Cherry Bomb on friday i think he can go in and pick his ball of choice.

Only thing he has to pay for is grips.

That is great for your Friend!

Must be the week for breaks, I have been looking for work for 2 months since I closed my business. Found a great one yesterday. Above average pay and benefits.

Just have to move from OKC to KCKS. But the wife's company has an office in that area too so it works out nice.

I bet your friend is very happy about now.

If he truly can't afford it then I would get the team to chip in the cost of the inserts (or do it myself). It couldn't be more than a couple bucks a person.

It's good to see.  Last year, a few guys I know purchased new balls for a couple kids in the juniors who couldn't afford them.  Bowlers aren't so cheap, after all.
