Were the free 300 rings ever gold?  If so how long ago was that?

The one my dad has from the 70's is gold. He was also sent a gold ring from Pro Grip because he was using it at the time of his 300.

There is a gold one in the jewelry box back home.  Think it's 10k, don't remember.  The old ABC 299 watches at one time were really nice.  Good Bulova watches.

It's a shame they don't do that anymore, but since I just shot my first 300 two weeks ago, I will definitely upgrade!

Yes, they were free, and also had an actual diamond in them as well.  Don't really know when that practice stopped.

If I remember correctly, 1978 was the last year that the ABC gave away Gold Rings for 300 games.

With the price of gold rather high, I see the gold rings cost around $800 right now. And I think that's for the 10k ring, not the good one.

For the record any stone you see in a ring is still a real diamond. They are just getting smaller. They are down to a 10pt 1/10th kt diamond but it is still real.

I knew they were silver at one time but had never heard of the free gold until recently.  Thanks for the info.

1st one I had was '78 (18 years old) and it was gold. '79 gold was an option.
