ABC/YABA question that was here before!
« on: September 16, 2004, 11:58:56 AM »
I think I finally found an answer to this! There was a post before about being able to go adult and still be YABA or something like that not totally sure. Well this is what I found out. You can be ABC sanctioned, and bowl adult leagues and still do JBT's, but that is the only Junior thing you can do as an ABC member.

That isn't the only thing you can do.  I posted the topic before and talked to greendale and George Webb and Mike Spridco and you can do any YABA as long as the ABC sanctioned league you do does not bowl for monetary prizes.  I bowled in the Indiana/Kentucky All Stars and ISYABA Masters Finals as a youth while being an ABC member cause I bowled in a youth and adult league in my hometown as a ABC member.

I was talking to our secretary of our adult/jr. sport league.  He said the juniors could bowl under the ABC, but that to remain eligible, the juniors could not win any money.  They could bowl for prizes(less than $50) or scholarships.  But, he did add that it should be the responsibility of the junior or the parents to confirm any local rules.
