Does anybody know what the drilling is? and what it does for sure? I have heard different things but would appreciate an educated answer. please don't guess, I can ask at the local lanes and get those. Thanks for any help.

I believe you're talking about the Sarge Easter drilling he uses. Basically, your middle finger is drilled fingertip, and your ring is drilled conventional. This cuts down on the rev rate. It also (from the people I've seen use it) creates more forward roll.

With that said, I've known a couple people who have tried it and nobody has liked it. Robert uses it specifically because of his insane amount of revs. I believe it was Bowling Digest that quoted him as saying "I was getting tired of standing 70", or something along those lines.

throws revs, speed, AND has a sence of humour, this guy cant be single, pchee, u might have some competition for the girls. maybe he even throws a more manly ball....

Right. The ring finger is the primary finger with which you create lift. To test the efficacy of using your ring finger for lift, try taking it out of the ball and throwing with only the middle finger and thumb. You'll notice the ball loping down the lane without any real measurable revs. Good for spares on a really dry shot or flying backends.
