Adrenaline Ball Wipes drying up?
« on: January 21, 2016, 12:50:51 PM »
I'm very interested in trying Powerhouse's Adrenaline Ball Wipes as they have very good reviews. However I am concerned about them "drying out" in their packaging. Any thoughts? Do they really dry up in a month after opening a pack? How long do they last before they dry up?

Mine lasted a lot longer than that. But they come in a zip lock bag; just make sure you take the one out you're going to use and seal the rest up tightly. They were wet enough to use one more than once. Put it back in and tightly seal it.

FYI if you clean your balls after each use with a good cleaner and use Clean n' Dull every 9 - 15 games, you won't need these at all. These help to TEMPORARILY restore the ability to absorb oil. They are not a permanent fix.

I got a pack to try out and they did dry up faster than I had hoped in their native packaging. Interesting, and a small difference....

However, as Charlest alluded to, it's all about sealing them up tight. I also agree with him that they are at best emergency use only if you do prescribed "best practice" maintenance steps.

Thanks for all the responses, how good exactly is clean n' dull? Can I Use it on shiny balls? Currently I am using Power Wash after every session, but am afraid it's not the best ball cleaner. One time, just after I cleaned it, I ran it under hot water for 10 seconds to see if there was any oil. I was surprised that there was still some oil on my ball even when I clean it after every set.

C&D is the best deep cleaner, but it is VERY strong. See this current thread for details

I've had luck with spraying a small amount of water on the wipes. Just enough to make them moist works pretty well.

How long will clean n' dull last? Planning on buying a small 4/5 oz bottle, if I like it, will go on and buy a 32oz bottle. How many times could I use it? Assuming I use it every 12-15 games. Also, am I able to use it on shiny balls? Does it work as well and does it remove some of the polish?

It is not a daily cleaner; it is too strong for that unless you bowl on true floods every day.
I have a large bottle and it lasts a long time, as you need very little.

How many times can you use it? Unanswerable question.

Does it work asvwell as what?
There is no better cleaner on the market.period.

Yes, you can use it on shiny balls. I have never dulled any ball using it.

You stated C&D is to strong for daily use.  So I take it from some previous posts of yours that a good daily cleaner would be LMB Extreme High Performance cleaner and C&D would be a cleaner to use every 15-20 games or so.
Do I have this right?
Thanks and I look forward to your reply.

C&D is a great cleaner.  I've got a quart bottle I've had for over 5 years that's about empty.  It's lost its green color, is brown now, and is much runnier than it was when new, but it still cleans great.

I've also got a quart bottle of the original LM cleaner that I seldom use because of the smell.  I got a ball in to clean yesterday that was super dirty, rolling more on belt marks than on ball surface.  I used Valentino's cleaner, then C&D and there was still gunk on the surface.  The LM took it right off.  I wear latex gloves when using strong cleaners.  When I took the gloves off, my hands had the same strong odor the LM has.  I had to wash my hands twice and use hand lotion to get rid of the smell.  Be very careful when using this cleaner.  --  JohnP

Not to hijack this thread too much, but Valentino's Remedy is a cleaner that you can use everyday. In fact, some bowlers will dampen a towel with Remedy and towel the ball after every shot.

Agree with Charlest on Clean n Dull both on effectiveness and use.

Just to be clear: LMB Extreme High Performance cleaner is on the list for use anytime. That includes "during" bowling.

Is the new LM cleaner as effective as the old was?  --  JohnP
