Hello everyone, I'm heading East from SD
« on: June 29, 2004, 08:17:56 PM »
I have not been on the forum for quite some time but I mentioned that I was going cross country this summer and I am leaving 10 July.  I'm taking 40 most the way across the states until I get to 44 (I believe) which takes me to Springfield MO (going to Branson MO). Then I will be going North through Hersey PA on my way to northern NJ.

I will be staying right around the corner from Rockaway Bowl in Denville if anyone is interested in meeting there to bowl between the 20th and 23rd od July.

I am also going through Oklahoma where the famous Hose lives I believe.

I will be making a motorcycle run at Ground Zero on the 24th of July then heading back to San Diego.  My route takes me through Niagara Falls, Canada Detroit, Chicago, then to Sturgis to Yellowstone and eventually to the Bay area to visit with Pchee2 and Doc Hollywood.

I know that I will pass by many of you on my trip and if you send me a message and are interested, I can stop by if its close to my travel plans and have a beer or bowl a few games.

Sorry that I haven't been around of past, but I'm glad that the site is still going strong.

Sincerely,
Barry

Jeffrevs,

I am staying at the Greenfield just down from the Ford Museum and just around the corner from Thunder Bowl.  I shoul be there the 27th of July.

Mumzie,

I am going to the Black Hill mountains and Mount Rushmore then to Yellowstone.  I don't know how much further Northwest I'll be goiung.  Depends on time. What state and city do you live in?

Ty,

I'l look into our route.  We take 40 all the way to 44.  Then wehen we leave Branson MO,  I'll be going north all the way to 78.  I think I should be close to Kansas City, but I have to check the route.

Thanks for all the inputs.

Sincerely,
Barry

Barry, if you get close to Mumzie you won't, probably, be all that far from me.  Within a couple of hundred miles, more or less.  I'm, if you recall, in eastern Washington; Mumzie is near (or in) Portland, Oregon.

On your way to Sturgis are you passing through Sioux Falls at all? So far this spring/summer we have had lots of rain starting to heat up now though and along with the heat is the humidity. Have a fun safe trip.

sdbowler,

I think our path takes us through Sioux Falls.  I'll check our AAA route package and see where it brings us on the way home.  Where is Sioux Falls? Idaho?  Sorry not to familiar with that part of the country.  I spent so much time overseas seeing the world, I didn't get much of a chance to see the US.  I'm making up for it this summer though

Sincerely,
Barry

Barry - Be safe out there and be sure to not smile a lot when driving.  The bugs taste nasty.

Can't wait to see you again.

Soiux Falls is in the Southeast corner of South Dakota. We have interstate 29 and 90 meeting here. We are just a rock throw away from Minnesota.

King Pin.  I will stop at Thunder Bowl beciase I would like to stop and see the owner Mr. Strobel and Wildman.  If you go to Thunderbowl and ask for Wildman almost everyone knows him.

I will also be in Detroit with the San Diego Ambassadors to Bowling Thanksgiving weekend.

Hope to see you on the 27th of July.

Barry,
I see that you are coming back by way of Chicago.  If you happen to have some time on the way through, and are so inclined, look me up.  Let me know if you think you'll make it, and I'll PM you some contact information.

Good luck with your trip!
