I've noticed that several balls which have been thought to be "Pearls". Have the word pearl in the color name, Example the "Rattler" Ball Color: Indigo Pearl / Ivory. So this may be where a lot of the "It's a pearl, not a solid" are coming from.

Having pearl in the color name doesn't necessarily make the ball a "pearl".

BTM lists balls as "Reactive Solid" and "Reactive Pearl" in the reviews. In their at-a-glance chart it's R or R Prl.

Sometimes in the reviews they just list the type as "Reactive" no solid or pearl with it. And in their at-a-glance chart the type shows "R".

So unless something in the review says this is a "pearl", when it just says reactive it will be listed as a solid.

I go with what BTM lists the type as, at least until they print a correction. (unless I see some strong reliable info, like on the company site that says otherwise.) That way I don't start getting the "that's not what BTM says it is".

I thank everyone that takes the time to look over the sheet.

See there's a problem-
the page the link (/advanced_performance)takes you to says "reactive pearl", but the page it takes you to just say's Reactive. Pearl is just in the color name.

The pdf doesn't say it's "Pearl" it just say's Reactive. Pearl is just in the color name.

I'll try emailing Brunswick and see what they say. If they say pearl I'll change it.

Ok I emailed Brunswick about the Rattler. I see why BTM just listed the Type as "reactive" not reactive solid or reactive pearl.

Brunswick says it has "Pearl additives" in the cover, but in a way they don't come right out and say "Yes it's a pearl"

I seen this before in the old Faball - 3D Offset Tour Hammer. It wasn't a pearl but had a little bit of mica (a pearl additive) in the cover.(That was a great ball, still have it.)

I would say yes its a pearl, but as far as the sheet goes. I'll do as BTM did and leave the type blank. I emailed BTM, with a copy of this email too see what they say. Maybe they will update the review.

Here's the email I got back from Brunswick, to me it gives the impression its pieces clipped from a longer document.

Hi Al,
This ball has Pearl additive in the cover stock and that is the start
...than for us the ball must act like a Pearl ....not all Pearls act like a
Pearl Ball reaction .....In the early days when you seen a ball with Pearl
Additives they would go long and hook at the back end when there was dry
boards ....but in the early years Brunswick Pearls were not that way
....each year we get better and better at that part of the game .....Thanks

I hope this helps you ....yes this ball has Pearl Additives in the cover
stock

If you have any other questions ...Please call or write me..

Thanks

I'm sorry, but I don't understand that reply at all.  I need a drink now.

I updated the sheet to June. Which adds in the two new Storm balls the "Fast" and the "Furious".

As for the "Rattler" I listed it as a pearl now. I found a better description of it.

"Coverstock: One of Brunswick’s most proven pearl coverstocks, Activator, encases this ivory and indigo (deep blue) pearl release."

"Test Results: Anyone who enjoyed the playability and motion of the original fire and smoke Inferno should seriously consider the Rattler. Both balls share a pearlized high gloss Activator cover, with similar RG and Diff values for the cores.
