Ball Spinner!  Innovative if you must ask.  I plan to start using it tonight.  Any tips?  It includes an instruction manual and I have grit pads from 500 to 4000.  The one thing I never thought of but it makes so much sense.  They said something about:

"Under today's lane conditions, you should strive to keep the ball as shiny as possible while maintaining desired ball reaction."

I never thought of that.  Basically they are saying a ball too shiny is FAR better than a ball that is too dull because the dull ball will hook more, hook early, hook out, and the result is far worse.

I used to be a firm believer in dull equipment. Polish used to give me fits with ball reaction. Today I can honestly say that polish is the best way to go. I started the season with a Storm Alpha Crux, a fairly aggressive bowling ball at box finish. What i was getting for reaction was roll out and burnt out reaction down lane. I wasn't seeing that reaction at first. Over the course of a couple weeks I started talking to my friends and they were seeing it and I was just being stubborn. Finally, about two weeks ago, I put a coat of polish on it and I basically have a brand new bowling ball. The down lane reaction is there and I finally see some scoring. I have actually been able to use the ball for a full set now and I am so happy with the results.

Best investment you could make, IMHO.  I picked up an Innovative about 3 years ago, and absolutely cannot do without it. 

You might want to think about a 360 grit, just for those times that you want to resurface, and work your way up.  Like to use it to cut as much cover to take out the deeper scratches faster. 

Go to Walmart and get a rubbermaid  storage tub.Get one deep enough for the spinner with a ball on it to be a few inches above the ball.Then you can use it anywhere in your house.Works great for me.just throwing that out there.

I have always done better taking the shine off the ball a little.  But is there a way to get a ball to read earlier but still not lose too much for the backend - by using polish?  Say 1000 surface, then some polish?  Thanks!  Also looking for a spinner...

I use mine to tune and clean my equipment just about every week fro some touch up or another
clean n dull on a spinner is the best method I have found so far for cleaning

I have my ball spinner in a big rubbermaid tub. It's on a rolling rack, but it would be easy to carry too. The tub is big enough for your supplies, extension cord and the walls are tall enough to prevent any splatter.

I built a basin into my work bench in the garage.  The top surface of the bench I hinged to open up to reveal the spinner, or I can close it and have my continuous work bench.   Custom built the whole thing with some scrap plywood from the original work bench build. 

Lined the basin with some really thin plastic coated sheeting.  has worked great for years that way.
