When to use which ball?
« on: August 10, 2011, 12:02:20 AM »
Hi Everybody.
So I figure it's about that time to start getting back into the swing of things.  There seems to be a common theme for league sessions that I thought I would try to address with a few small pointers before the season starts for most of us.
You know that phenomenon of having an above average to start, crap out in the transition game, and then tear it up in the last game?  Wouldn't you like to avoid that bad middle game?  It happens to all of us.  Keeping ahead of the transition is what makes the difference between the pros and the rest of us.

But...you can take away a couple of tips to possibly help you avoid this from happening.  It's just some simple reminders about when might be the right or wrong time to be using certain types of equipment.  It's not the Bible, just some general recommendations.

Let me know what you think.
Thanks.

good article......I even printed that out and I will be putting it in my bag! Could have used that tip last night while practicing! Was practicing with my new alpha max and just wasnt getting a good read for two and half games due to the fact the heads were fried, but i knew that and just wanted to keep rolling my new ball instead of pulling out my skid/flip monster victory road sooner. Oh well, it was just practice.

A good and comprehensive article, even though I'd say that there is more to a proper ball reaction than "just" smooth arc vs. skid/flip. When and how goes the ball through its reaction phases? Does it burn/roll out? There are so many factor involved - it is mind-boggling to put up an equation "just in a nutshell". But, anyway, well-written, I like it :)

Thanks.  You are absolutely correct the the amount of information could be mind-boggling.  I have to offer little understandable pieces.  However, I have many articles that go into much more detail around ball reaction on the site.

Hopefully, this is just to trigger folks to start thinking about the season coming and can then look into it in more depth.
