Good bowling has always been about the long run. In one game matches, random events can, and often do impact the outcome. That doesn't mean there wasn't a reason why Kent left the 7-10. I just means that the ball reaction on that particular shot was not proportionate to the quality of the release. Over the course of many games Kent leaves a lot fewer 7-10s on that release, than Smallwood leaves 2-10 combos on his release.
