Alcohol, by its self, is just a surface cleaner at best. Doesn't get the dirt or oil out of the cover, just off the surface.

I'll let my ball sit out in the sun on a hot day, 80-90. Rotate it and then wipe all the oil off and then bring it inside (away from the A/C). After it cools off a little I'll rub it with alcohol, it does get the belt marks off and cleans it up. Keep in mind I don't do this on a regular basis, cleaning your ball too much with Isopropyl can actually hurt your ball. Oh and don't clean it with anything above 70%

When I was in Oklahoma we had a lady that did the same thing. Only problem was she did it at work. She left her ball on the back porch at work because she bowled later that night. Someone stole the ball off the porch!

clean and dull is some good $hit
and I have tried several different types.
Place Im at has dirty curtains which leaves black marks that are tough to remove.
Clean and dull will not alter the ball surface in any way
