I was in a league last year that I didn't care for, but I stuck it out till the end. As it turns out, my team won the championship. It was nice to go out in 1st place, but I made the decision not to return to that league this year knowing how I felt about it last year. It was a guaranteed league, meaning I had to pay if I bowled or not unless I found a bowler to take my place during the season. Even if it wasn't guaranteed, I would have stuck it out for the season and dropped out after the season, just like I did. I have never quit a league midway through a season and suspect it would take ill health, finances or some other setback to have me drop out of a league during the season. By the way, I dropped out of this particular league because I was tired of showing up every week and facing mechanical breakdowns that never seemed to be fixed right and I got tired of trying to avoid the less than sober folks sharing the lanes with me.
