thumb problem
« on: September 18, 2004, 04:52:22 PM »
today my thumb ripped a little bit and league starts thursday, is there anything better then new skin because it seems like it always cracks off my thumb or when i put a good amount on it does not fit in the ball well it jsut doesn't feel right, should i just use a band aid and neosporin for now and when i have to bowl just put new skin on or should i use it from now tell then? i think my ball is drilled good but my thumb swells alot like at first i take 2 strips of tape out and by the 5th frame i need to put the strips back in

Fishnic,
Try Ebonite Ultra Magic Tape. It should do the job for you. It is applied to the thumb or fingers if needed.  It allows you clear the thumb or fingerholes cleanly and seem to last very well. If your bad spot on your thumb is dry it should get the job done!

Do you use thumb slug ???

Have one ball without slug and always had thumb problems with this ball.
No matter how I polish hole always the same.

SkinPatch from Robbys, or Ebonite X-tra skin is perfect.

Once after long braeak from play I scrach mu thumb skin to the bone.
SkinPatch save my life on tournament two days later.

If problem appearing with thumb slug check your drilling.

Another good reason for slugs.  My thumb kept sticking/swelling in every new ball.  I finally found out it was the resin in the coverstock.  Switched everything to thumb slugs then added the magic carpet.  Now my thumb shrinks from week to week.  I've gone down 2 drill bit sizes from my old drilling.
