Am I a bagger???

I've lost interest in bowling at the moment so I'm not bowling but one night a week and I don't have any plans on bowling tournaments this year.

Last year I ended with 227 and was bowling alot and bowled tournaments every week or so.
This year, I'm bowling with urethane and don't really care about how I score.  It's a fun league and I'm bowling with some guys that haven't bowled before.  The way things are going, I'll be lucky to book 200.

If I decide to get serious again in a year or so and bowl handicap tournament, will I be bagging?

I think that depends.  Have you already in your mind decided that you will "re-get serious" next year and bowl handicap tournaments, while also knowing that you are going to average 200 this year if you keep this up?  If the answer to that is yes, then yes.

No - True Sandbagging is when you drop your average ON PURPOSE for the sole intent of getting an unfair advantage in a tournament or league where handicap comes into play.

Is your fun league sanctioned,and would you be pissed if your house decided not to count your scores for the season?

Im with Rowdy.  If you are just practicing to round out your game, you're not bagging.  If you are purposely maintaining your average to gain an advantage of the handicap, your bagging

227??? Holy crap!

Well, the association that I belong to will normally go back a couple of seasons to verify averages. So... even if you were sandbagging, it wouldn't matter because the 227 would probably be the average used anyhow.

Beside that, I generally think of it this way: If you are asking the question, then you are probably sandbagging.

YES!!!

You haven't bowled a handicap tournament in years.  Why consider shooting one now or in the future.  Would having a lower average have any thing to do with the decision.

I'm with SrK on this one... If you're capable of averaging 227, why bother with handicap tourneys where you know there will be some douchebag that will out-sandbag you?  I think you were in the sun too long caddying for Sawbones this weekend!

Hose - your dad Sawbones brought up a good point but however you have decided to do what I do and you called me a bagger and so you must be one too.  Welcome to the club.  CLUB - I'm not an offical bagger I am just bowling for fun and don't care if I don't bowl to the bst of my ability because I want some sort of challenge to keep bowling interesting.

Just don't make it too obvious and average 189.

Who cares what people say whether you are a bowler or a bagger.  Just agree with them and tell them to get a life.  Only you know whether you are or not.

When you bowl well you are a bowler.  When you bowl bad you must be a bagger.
