Is there a lot of people who can bowl both left and right handed anytime they want? I am a right-handed person, but naturally bowl left. I can bowl right-handed as needed. Is this common or rare.

Anyone can bowl with either hand, it's rare to find someone that's good with either hand.  --  JohnP

I definitely think it's rare to find someone who is talented with both hands, but there are certainly some out there who can do it. I am a 215+ bowler RH, but I am fairly certain I could average 190+ right out of the gate LH based upon all of the LH games I've thrown over the years.

Bryan Alpert, a natural righty who used to bowl on tour and won a national stop, is one of the best I've heard of. He has multiple 300/800 sets from the left. He can still average a lefty 230 on a THS.

It's something to watch and takes a certain kind of talent.

Yeah, being good or at least proficient with both hands is fairly rare.  There's a guy in town here that has multiple honor scores with both hands.  I average over 200 with both hands, but have yet to get an honor score lefty.  We are the only two in town (1200 members) that bowl both.
What would you be if you were attached to another object by an inclined plane, wrapped helically around an axis?

Probably as tough or tougher than a MLB ball player who is good at switch hitting?

Yeah it's pretty close to the same.  I'm sure there are a lot of guys in the majors who CAN hit some stuff from the other side of the plate, but being good enough to actually do it in a game is a different story.

Thanks for all the replies. I usually an average of 190 both left and right. When I practice, I bowl on 2 lanes, one for left and one for right. It is fun for sure.
