how do you deal with doubles???
« on: June 28, 2003, 08:19:50 PM »
Well, I had a great/not-so great experience last night. There's a tournament in southwest Washington going on for several months each summer. I bowled doubles with a friend of mine last night. The good news is that we are now leading the event, and the two ladies made the board in scratch doubles against the guys...
The other good news. My partner shot 256-289-278-823. She was ON FIRE.
I was just smoke. No substance. Shot 498. Yep. Didn't even break 500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had more trouble with my physical game last night than I've had in many many years.
Although I'm really glad we did well as a team, geez... Could it have been more uneven?
I wish I knew how to feel about this one... Confused is the best it gets.
I guess the answer is that I really know how to pick my partner... :-)

Well, we bowled together today for team. I shot 672, she shot 678. Although it didn't count for doubles, we beat our score from last night - 1350 scratch instead of 1321.

I told her today that I didn't really mind the teasing, but that if I hadn't bowled reasonably well today, I'd probably not have taken the teasing well.

I think last night's pathetic performance came down to a total loss of timing. thank goodness it's back. Phew.
