Building an arsenal
« on: January 09, 2014, 05:42:14 PM »
Is it best to build an arsenal from one company or multiple companies? I was thinking of building an arsenal using Roto's lineup but I also like some other balls from other companies. Are there any pros/cons to either?

I lean more towards a mix and match from different companies because I don't get paid to promote a certain company so why limit myself.  Each company seems to have a unique reaction, which combined with a knowledgeable pro shop you can build a very versatile arsenal. Right now I have a killer one two punch with a pin down pyramid chosen path and a pin up totally defiant. My complete arsenal is chosen path, 900 global train, totally defiant, and amf double clutch pearl. But most stick with one brand because their pro shop only stocks certain brands or is not as knowledgeable on all the brands or just because its sounds cool to be team (insert brand).

I stick with storm and roto grip(not endorsed by any means) because the finishes are near perfect for my game as I match up with them pretty well.  They usually don't get too wacky with cores or covers as they are super tested overseas.  Also I have had far less balls not match up with my game.

My advice: find which company has the best low end to mid price balls for your game as those will be your transition and "I'm in trouble" balls.  Then you can try high end pieces at will.

Besides in my opinion roto grips line up is not expansive enough to build an entire line up.  I can't really get deep with any symmetricals, however I can get the reaction I need with the victory road/hyroad/crossroad line up from storm.

You are a unique fella then if you can't get In with symmetrical balls. Asymmetrical balls aren't very good for me unless the angles are tight or almost a fall back shot. Asymetrical balls stand up too early going away fron the pocket and when I say In I mean left of 20, 3rd arrow is not inside to me.
