Heel pain from bowling
« on: April 18, 2007, 03:07:08 PM »
Does anyone develope a heel pain from bowling ? I am wondering if it is due to my new 'Dynorooz Men's Tour Ultra Bowling Shoes', now I switched back my old Dexter and the problem is now not getting worst, however, the pain is still here. How can I be cure ? is there any way to minimize the pain during my shot ? I got a hard time to have a solid finish because of this pain.

Hope you guys can help me.

You may be developing plantar faciitis.

I've had it!  Brutal...it's gone after several years!

Did the treatments...stayed bad...always got worse from bowling....for me under slide foot more!  Then I started eating a LOT of dry roasted peanuts...GONE.
Stop eating em...it comes back!

Something nutritional??

thanks Luckylefty, i found this document in the internet http://orthopedics.about.com/od/footankle/a/fasciitis.htm .... I think I may caused by the bad fitting shoe, I will try some treatment (at least icy) that mentioned in the document, hope it could help.

Last year, I got plantar fasciitis on my right heel, I'm right handed. After I had  shoe inserts molded to my foot, I got instant relief and I could bowl the next day. Although this condition is now cured, I still wear these shoe inserts for bowling as a preventative measure and also because they are so comfortable. Good bowling.

Lane1,
I had the same problem with the same shoes too.  I am a big guy about 240# and I also have flat feet.  I think that the Dynorooz just didn't give me enough support and cushion for my feet. I too changed shoes...the Etonic Stabelites they are the greatest!!! No problems out of them.  But I still had some heel pain.  To relieve it, I bought Dr Scholls inserts for my heel.  Its like a cup for your heel and gives you a little better arch support, its not a full foot insert though just the heel and arch.  After wearing them during my everyday activites it went away. Ice helped too.

Hope you feel better,
BMM

Lane1Lover,

I had plantar fascitis last year, and like LuckyLefty said, it is brutal.  Never thought something could hurt my foot quite like that.  My girlfriend is a physical therapist and she recommended rolling a golf ball on the floor on the part of your heel where you feel the pain.  It will help to work out the inflammation.  Give it a try, it helped me out a lot.

Thanks everyone ! I will take all your suggestions to cure my foot. More, I agreed with bowlingmytmouse that the problem is because of my new shoes, at least the problem now is not getting worst after I changed back to my old Dexter SST6 with Scholl heel jelly.

Good bowl everyone !
