I played on the Winding Road in my PBA Exp. doubles league last Sunday. The lanes in this center have a lot of outside and down-lane recovery on short and medium length patterns. Winding Road is 39 ft. and falls into the medium length category.
I used a newly drilled Roto Grip Strike Cell (overseas version of the Cell with a Hybrid cover). Pin 4" from PAP (under ring finger) and MB 5.5" from PAP. Box cover is 1500 polished. I took the shine off by going over it lightly with a fresh burgandy Scotch Brite pad by hand.
Began the night playing ten at the arrows with a slight head belly. There was some hold on slight misses inside and plenty of recovery as is characteristic of this center. I made slight moves left as the hold went away and slightly opening up the angle. Probably moved about 5 and 4 by the end of the third game. Shot 211+280+213=704 with a miss in the first and third games.
My Monday Trios PBAX league will have a five week stint on the WR starting this coming Monday (after 5 weeks of Boardwalk). This center has a slicker surface and does not yield as much recovery. I'll probably have to play straighter. Just for comparison, after five weeks my doubles league avg. is 210 and the trios avg. is 178. I did close out the five weeks of Boardwalk with a three deuce 636 set to bring the avg. up from 170! After trying to play outside for four weeks, I moved in and found something.
Good luck!
