« on: October 25, 2003, 08:02:33 AM »
WOW, did Tim Mack get spanked by,... as Leftside called him, The Tall Goofball, 4 games to 1.!

And Patrick Allen....although making the wildcard had Himmler down 3-0 and LOST in 4 straight!!

Should be a good show !!

I wouldn't have said so much that Mack got spanked as he gave a couple of games away with his spare shooting (or 2nd shots in the case of a couple of those splits).  Before they threw the first shot, I had fully expected it to be a toss-up that went the full seven games...that whiffed 10 in the 10th of game 4 was the kiss of death though.

Nothing against Mack, mind you, but with all the talk about him, I thought it would have been closer, that's all......From what I've heard , he's a force to be reckoned with !

Jeff...watch the strike pass feed.  The whiff in game 4 is what created the tenth-frame rolloff...all of a sudden, instead of being tied 2-games each, it became 3-1 Mika.  Mack then starts game one with a open (chop) and a split (very makeable, but chopped for a 5-1) and then gutter-spare.  After that, he pretty much ran the sheet until the 11th shot.  The third game was the one that Mika threw 270 at him.  IIRC, Mack still averaged 230+ for the set against Mika.

Mack was also upfront with some comments in the interview with Del as the PA-Himmler match continued...

Maybe this new guy on tour timmy will give us what chris hasn't. And thats a dominate young force on tour.

New on tour- yes, "young"? well, relatively speaking, not exactly.  Seems to me Tim is 31 or 32, which is older than most of the pups going out there as rookies.  Although, he is admittedly a rookie in the same sense as the Japanese baseball stars that have come to the major leagues in the past few seasons.

Chris Barnes was 28 when he went out on tour.  I wish I'd have gotten started bowling a decade or so ago, I'd have been able to watch him bowl league every week.  I hear people talk about what it was like to bowl with him, and how much his game has developed to where it is now.  For how much people talk trash on Topeka bowlers, we sure seem to throw in some good ones every once and a while.  Chris, Rick Steelsmith, Lonnie Waliczek, then of course Ron Bahr winning nationals as a true amatuer, never bowling collegiately and only bowling a few leagues a week.

I'm BETTER than you because . .

1) I've met the DNL leprechaun
2) I get paid to watch tv.
3) My dad's friend's brother knows Chris Barnes' stepdad.
4) Kristi's my buuuuuddy
5) I get to witness a man with the speed and revs of Robert Smith combined with the accuracy of the guards in the lobby scene of the Matrix average 240
6) I can throw a better fit over nothing than you can.

I watched the live stream last night.  Mika got in Macks head and Tim just was completely thrown from his game. I am sure Tim will get used to the "rubbing" that is out here.

Can someone please tell this "old timer" how, or where, to look to receive this live stream?  Many thanks!

Peri (and anyone else with the same question )...go to the PBA site and look for the information on StrikePass.  It is a nominal fee that gets you coverage from the Round of 16 and 8, as well as the show itself.  Seems to me it is $6.95 a month.  Yeah, they have had some glitches and yeah, there are some differences compared to last season, but for the true fans, it is (in my opinion) worth the fee.
