Has this ever happen to you?
« on: March 29, 2005, 12:50:02 PM »
Okay, on this, the most embarrassing day of my life. I have chose to post what happen to me today simply because, well it is really funny. First let me start this by telling the story. My girlfriend had a bowling lesson she couldn't make today so I decided to go instead. SO!! I meet the coach and he sees me bowl and begins to tweek my shot. With his coaching I then shoot 244, and 226. Then in my third game my slide pad comes off from my shoe ( it needs to be reglued cause it's old.)...You  all see where I'm going with this...LOL...So I reach in my bag and grab a new slide pad out...Didn't realize I grabbed the stickier one...On the next ball I stick on the throw and at the same time the ball sticks in my hand as I gracefully go flying down the lane...Made it all the way to the arrows..!!!!...I gave it a 7.8 but I really think I deserved the 8...has anyone else busted a move like this in recent memory, please lie and make me feel better...LOL... Well anyway at least I can laugh at myself... THe one casualty was my blackberry ("Cell Phone" for those who are technically challanged)... I landed right on it and busted the screen..Well hope ya'll got a good laugh and please say something encouraging...LOL...

well the only upside to my blunder was that the house was completely empty... It still hurt the pride and that thing called confidence though..LOL

I'm going to tell one on my husband.  (Of course, I have never done anything like this.) Anyway, he was chatting it up with his friends before warm-up and forgot to change his shoes.  He belly flopped and slid a few feet into the oil.  As a good wife should, I first checked to see if he was hurt(he wasn't). Then I laughed my head off.

In the tenth frame of one of the biggest tournaments in the michigan area, my dad needed to strike out to have a chance to win. First ball, he gets up, goes into his approach, swings the ball back, and it goes FLYING into the computer monitor. Broke the screen, and everyone around was laughing their @sses off. When he came back, he was so embarrassed and laughing so hard it took him 10 minutes to throw his next shot.

HAHA, my dad beats all of you. HE went to make a phone call and the ground outside was wet, so he put on lu shoe covers (both of them). Anywya, he came back and went up to bowl....forgetting to take off the covers. THe ball came off his hand, and his foot stuck to the floor, and when his other foot came aroung to help give him some ballance, that stuck too. He went FLYING down the lane. He landed on his asss more than a foot past the arrows. I didnt see it happen because i was turned away, but when i turned around he was laying belly up on the lane. I started to laugh while a bowler rom another lane came running over to see if he was ok. My dad turned out ok. My shoe covers were soaked with oil. My dads moral was shot, and i was embarrised to be bowling witht his clumsy man.

I had a friend of mine forgot to take off his shoe covers...he went down the lane faster than his ball (which he actually just dropped) ..did the "bugs bunny feet going faster than the body thing" he really looked funny. We all had a great laugh and when league started made a big thing about asking if his covers were off....should we check for him..just general good fun. His first 2 frames were crap, then he started a string of strikes, so I guess , somehow, it helped him. That game he went 25 (i think) pins over average.

when ever I go for drinks, I put my shoe cover on, no every time I come back, I pick up my ball, stand on the approach and start getting ready, just have a quick look down to see where I'm standing, and see my covers, doh...
so far I haven't bowled with them, but its only a matter of time....

Well, I've never stuck nearly as bad as any of you, but once I had the worlds most disastrous slide.  I have no idea why, but the approaches were terribly slick just at the foul line.  I threw my first shot and, for a brief moment, was looking at my foot, not down but directly in line with the masking unit, from a heigth of maybe 4 or 5 feet.  Then I landed on my back and butt - hurt like holy bejazus.

I haven't stuck on the approach but during the ABC Mixed Tournament in Louisville, KY, I made a ball change.  The ball stuck on my thumb so badly that it went about 10 feet over my head, landed on the lane and bounced into the next lane. After checking to make sure that my thumb was still on my hand and not in the ball (it was still where it belonged), everyone had a big laugh at my expense.  At least the ball went into my doubles partner's lane and not one where I didn't know the bowler. After her score was corrected and I was given a big 0 for mine everything ended up OK.

Why change balls? I can miss my target with any of them!

Didn't get to see this happen, but saw the result.  A little 8 lane house had a tourney(forget the name).  Anyway, I walked in to the place and in the ceiling was two holes about 2 feet apart from one another just past the foul line.  Hanging from the ceiling was a plaque commemorating the date, time, and name of the person who stuck in their ball.  Pretty funny.

I was 12 and I slipped and my body was parallel with the approach as I fell and sprained my back. The lighter not was that the ball hit the lane at the arrows and struck. Every one said it was the best trick shot they ever saw.
Another incident was when I was trying to be too fine with my post and I split my pants so my C**k is almost hanging out.
