Another one of my stupid ass stoner type questions/ideas
« on: July 25, 2004, 10:52:15 AM »
Is it possible to find a material, almost like spongey foam, but harder, almost like clay, to put in our thumb hole? Like think about it, if there was something that has the strength to not rip/break, it would mold to your thumb, like clay/play doh kind stuff, and sprung back to the original shape like spongey foam, wouldnt that be the solution to all our problems? It would totally take out the factor of trying to get the precise fit, because it would remold to your thumb EVERY TIME you put it in! I dont know, just a thought!

In a way yes, but not quite what I ment. If you ever stick your finger into a can of play doh, you'll know what I mean. Though I am looking into getting some more magic carpet(s?)

If it never got hard then what would you grip against? No matter how relaxed a hand you have, you have to use some pressure to keep from dropping the ball. If the material gave way to pressure then your thumb would move under your palm during the swing giving forward pitch.

Now if you could have a material that you could use to make a mold of your thumb and would then harden into a slug that might work. You could then put it in as a slug at the proper pitch.

However with some of the thumb shapes that are out there, like where the knuckle is much wider than the rest of the thumb, the material would have to a memory to stay as big as the biggest part of the thumb.
