Another pro shop ?
« on: August 12, 2008, 05:44:36 AM »
I have been thinking about this for years. My question is after you have plugged a ball. Fingers only, thumb only, or all. Do you resurface the entire ball or just try to resurface the area of plug? I have seen it done both ways. I was just wondering what you pro shop operators do. Also to if you resurface the ball do you charge them for the resurface job or is that part of the price for the plug?

You do only as much work as needed to smooth the plug. You do not do the whole ball.

They will need to pay for a resurface if they want that.

A shop might offer a combo deal, reduced rate on a resurface when the ball is plugged by them.

Many times people like the ball and just want to change the holes.  We try not to mess with the surface unless absolutely needed.  We will clean the ball and prep it but only resurface if asked to or is needed.
