Another : Pro Shop Vs internet buying
« on: September 07, 2007, 06:33:17 AM »
I went to the pro shop to buy a Toxic.  They sold me a Raid.  I don't know anything about the ball so this is not about the ball.  This was at The South Poiny in Las Vegas.

The ball out the dor with inserts and thumb slug was $251 dollars.

Buddies Pro shop has them for sale delivered for $126 and to have it drilled including thumb slug and inserts ($32) for a total of $158.  Thats over $90 dollars difference.

Sounds like you got ripped.

I hear that ball is under $100 to the shop.  I understand the need for a markup, but that ball is under $179 drilled in the shops around here (grips, slugs and tax are extra).

That ball is 113.00 at Cal bowling supply not under a 100.00 as stated above, yes you paid too much. It is a high mid line release not midline like the clash or gamebreaker.

South Point is high priced i like the bowling center there, not bowling there this year.

My teamate had a ball chewed up by a pin in the chute they replaced the ball for free but charged him for drilling, guess what 91.00 for blank drilling, grips and thumb slug. They made back most of there money for the ball, so they are there to make money not friends.

The ball was a Black Widow solid btw.

Sorry, I was mistaken on the price.  I was thinking about the Gamebreaker.  Too many new releases to keep track of.

That would put the Gamebreaker in the $150-175 range, and the Raid in the $165-190 range (drilled, not including grips, slug, tax).

You know, if you gambled more at the South Point Casino, they would have given you the ball for free, drilling included and grips included.

$91 to drill a ball! Ouch. That is pretty steep.
