Fell on my face tonight (literally)
« on: September 03, 2009, 01:19:47 PM »
Well at least all up and down my right hand side to avoid chipping teeth or breaking glasses.

Bowling center supposedly buffed the approaches and whatever they did left them all filled with moisture, almost a tacky feel.

First practice shot I stopped dead about 2 feet behind the foul line and wound up with oil all over my right hand side as my forward momentum took over.

I bowled 1 game on a pair of lanes (as I demanded we be moved) and found all the approaches were just a poor.  I left as I did not feel it was worth risking my health just to bowl.

I gave the owner a 1 week ultimatum that he makes the approaches "baby powder smooth" or he loses another bowler.  As it is I am current President of the league.  Right now I am starting to turn black and blue where my keys were in my right hand jeans pocket.

Anyone think a lawyer could be called ??

Easy Slide is a good product if used properly.  Apply it before league and make sure there is no residue to be tracked onto the approach.  As a league president you should be well aware of rule 12.  You can not just pat it on and go.  The center has the right to ask you to stop if you are not using it properly.  If you refuse they can protest to USBC and ask to have your sanction card pulled.  This could start an ugly war.

It was actually the center manager who made the suggestion of easy slide (not baby powder) until the approaches got worn in from what they did to them.  He claims it should only be a couple weeks.

Damn.... Try bowling on approaches when some a-holes decided to track a little sand on to the approach.

Hand the center manager the rule book

As for bowling on approaches with sand on them.  Try bowling barefooted!  You'll only do it once!
