Another rules question
« on: December 03, 2010, 04:40:38 AM »
Is there a rule governing what a bowler can  do with his off hand?  Is it illegal to hold a towel or something in the non-bowling hand during a delivery?  It came up in our league, and someone said it was illegal, but couldn't reference the rule, and I can't seem to find it, either.  Maybe I'm using bad search terms.

As long as the hand (or anything the hand holds) doesn't touch anything beyond the foul line I'm not aware of any rule that limits what it can do or hold.  --  JohnP

I have to agree with John. I have been a league secretary for over 20 years and I am now the Association Manager. I am not aware of any rules that limit what your off hand can or cannot do, except touch anything over the foul line.

That's what we thought, but this one guy was so adamant about it, so the guy that holds his towel left it behind on the next game, and threw a 267 in it.
