I struggle this past Friday Nite in league play (whopping 493). Felt okay at the start but by the end of the first game I was having trouble with my left leg. It was a pain on the outside of the knee. A friend of mine (who is E.M.T, phys ed. teacher, working on a degree in sports medicine) thought it was like tendonitis or something.
This has happened to be before (last year). Went to the doctor, everything looked okay and suggested wearing a knee support. Before this week, I was bowling two nights a week without a knee support and feeling fine. This past week I bowled league on Friday, practice 4 games on Saturday (By myself). 3 Games on Sunday, 3 games on Monday. I was feeling okay that night (shot 657 and had no pain).
Bowled Thursday nite (4 games). Subbed in a house never bowled in before. The lanes were extremely dry (Was throwing ball really hard). Leg was hurting after that. Then bowled my Friday nite league. I was in pain after 1st game. I was practically standing at the foul line. (I had no knee supports with me, somehow they were not in my bag. That ticked me off!!)
Question: Is there something in my approach that causes this pain?
Now I have a tendacy to turn my left foot to the left at little after my follow through. I usually stay balanced at the line, except when I was bowling that Thursday nite (dry conditions).
I know one thing. I will be buying a new knee support tomorrow.
