Any input appreciated

My favorite ball of all time has to be the Brunswick Warp zone. I haven't been able to get as "locked in" with any other ball that I have used...the insite almighty came close, has the same core in it and was made at the brunswick factory. I got the almighty first, 2 and a half years ago, loved the ball...but didn't handle enough oil for what I needed, so on buddies proshop suggestion, I picked up a warp zone, same core able to handle heavier volumes of oil.

Got the warp zone 2 summers ago and my first league game with it was a 278, so I was impressed(had a few 270's scores with that ball). By about october, I noticed that either the ball had lost a little bit of it's hook, or the center that I bowl at had a bit more oil on the lanes then they had before( I think It might have been a little of both). So the search was on for a ball that had the personality of my warp zone but could handle heavier volumes of oil than the warp. Unfortunately there wass never any stronger ball than the warp made with the warp zone core.

On an impulsive decision that november I bought an amb particle, just to try and shake me from a bit of a slump I was in at the time, had to greatly polish it up, that was only so so for me. A few month's later at the suggestion of a knowledgeable proshop guy in my area, he suggested the new track machine....I loved the thumb fit he gave me, but I didn't care for the ball. I did like it better dulled than in the oob polished condition. Aquired a midnight scorcher at the begginning of last fall season, which I have plosihed up pretty good, and not long after that bought an overseas roto-grip mtx. Like both the scorcher and the mtx, similar volumes they can handle at present, but a bit different in they way they go about getting the job done , so usually if the mtx isn't carrying I can swith to the scorcher and get better carry. Still, though nothing compares to my warp zone, I hardly ever use it now becasue it is to aggressive to play the drier outside boards and not agressive enough to play the part of the lane I normally like to play.

What I would like to know is if there is any ball that exists, that could  reasonably be found that would have the personality of my warp zone but have the ability to handle heavier volumes of oil. The thing I love about the warp is that I get good control in the front part of the lane, it doesn't overskate in the oil, and it doesn't overreact on the backend. I am not a brand loyalist, so I am just wondering if anything is out there from anyhone that could fit the bill of what I am looking for??   Or...if I were able to get ahold of another warp zone and simply max out the agressivness in the drilling--the one I have is drilled with a little bit of length and a little bit of recovery--would a change in drilling be enough that I would then have the next step up if there was such a thing?

You may wish to consider the Roto Grip Venus.  Pearl Particle that can handle heavier amounts of oil than you'd expect.
Good luck with your search.

You may want to attempt to "revive" your Warp zone...  search this site for "hot water bath"... essentially it is an easy at-home method for pulling out oil (or whatever else) comes out of the coverstock of a ball.  Being a dull, particle ball, I would imagine the warp zone has soaked up quite a bit of dirt/oil over its life.  This proceedure will help restore some of its life.  Once you complete it, try and find a proshop that has either 1) a Haus machine with diamond pads or 2) CABS with Trizact pads to have your WZ resurfaced.  These special pads are required becasue the particles are so hard that normal resurfacing proceedures just don't cut it.  I think that will go a long ways to bringing back your favorite ball.  Worst case, watch eBay.. I know from time to time WZ's will pop up.
good luck!

Try a Mammoth. It can handle tons of oil and has a great price.
